Hee, yes, exactly! It's part of the professor guise, and he is hiding behind them in a way very similar to the way he hides behind the actual mask.
Which is what makes it so wonderful a detail that after the first few eps, Shen Wei takes his glasses off when he is alone with Zhao Yunlan. <3
